When should I schedule my session?
In order to give each session my full attention and creativity I limit the number of sessions I schedule each week – soooo… senior sessions book well in advance. Your session fee is required to hold your date.
On location, what location?
I have a few favorite locations in the Waukesha area where we can shoot. Otherwise, do you have an idea for a fun location? – I love to shoot at new locations – especially when there is a variety of colors, textures, and a good mix of sun and shade.
What should I wear?
…the most important question!! The Clothes – Bring your favorite jeans!… and your favorite tops in a variety of colors and textures. Skip tank tops… unless you want to show-off your ripped arms – otherwise long sleeves are more flattering….so are necklines that don’t plunge if you know what I mean. You might also want to bring a fun dress?
During your session you’ll have to change outfits – so I suggest wearing a cami to make changing without a changing room a snap.
Don’t forget the details! Shoes or bare feet work for me – just make sure you like the color of your polish… same with your fingers (make sure you like that polish too). Accessories… a scarf, hat, sunglasses, purse, jewelry – anything that screams your name – bring it! ….and you’ll want to figure out who will make the best assistant for you. Bring them along too – so they can carry your goodies so all you have to worry about is looking fabulous!
How many outfits can I bring?
There are no rules! 3 – 4 different looks is manageable… 2 just isn’t enough… you can definitely do more than 4 – you’ll just be spending a lot of time changing!! Remember, you can change an outfit a lot with accessories – a scarf, hat, sunglasses, jacket….
Professional hair and make-up? Really?
Everyone will see these pictures!! They’ll be hanging in your parents’ home for years, they’ll be in the slideshow at your wedding, your kids and their kids will want to see them…. You want to look your best! Even if you usually don’t wear much – you should to wear make-up for your session. A professional isn’t required but they will perfect your foundation to even your skin tone, load the mascara just enough, and add the right amount of color so you look like you – at your best!!
A few more tips – bring powder for touch-ups and to avoid shine if it’s a warm day, keep your lips soft with lip gloss, and bring your weapon of choice to calm possible fly-aways.
